The Comeback Show
Premiere 09.02.2024 - CONGRESS INNSBRUCK
The big comeback show for Enrique Gasa Valga and his dance company in Innsbruck.
A highly emotional and highly musical evening with great Cuban musicians and captivating choreography.
The legendary Valdes family of pianists, who shaped Cuba's musical heritage for three generations, illustrates the turmoil of this Caribbean island. From 1920 to Fidel Castro's revolution in 1959 to the present day, the fate of many Cuban families can be traced through the romantically tragic story of Bebo Valdes, who was never able to set foot on the island again after his escape in 1961 until his death. His late fame at an advanced age and his recordings with Diego Cigala and his son Chucho Valdes went down in music history.
An evening full of romance, melancholy and enchanting music, performed by Bebo's grandson Cucurucho Valdes, among others. The biggest dance production of 2024 in Innsbruck.
"This will be a very special production for me. I had the privilege of working as a dancer in Cuba and was able to experience many touching stories first-hand, such as that of the legendary Valdes family. It is a great honor that I can now tell this great Cuban story together with his grandson in my home city of Innsbruck." - Enrique
