Born and raised in Innsbruck, Winkler's path first led via the clarinet and saxophone to hip hop and finally to electronic music before he founded weyrerTon Studios at the age of 23.

Through his work as a sound engineer at the Tiroler Landestheater, Winkler met Enrique Gasa Valga and their first collaboration was born. "Körper.Seelen" - was celebrated frenetically by the audience and was not to be the last collaboration. Several more guest appearances in the choreographer's productions followed.

Apart from this, Winkler has set a number of theater productions to music, composed a chamber opera "Totentanz" (premiere 2017 Kammerspiele, Tiroler Landestheater) and most recently a recomposition of Purcell's opera King Arthur. In the studio, Winkler works with local and international stars and has built up a reputation as a producer, composer and sound engineer.
